JD Film Productions is owned and operated by Jason Dobbins of Clarksburg,WV. JD Productions has been taping weddings and events for years and is ready for all your taping needs. Jason works at a television studio filming and editing commercials. Over the years he has produced thousands of television commercials for businesses all over West Virginia. Jason has also produced dozens of videos or performance arts venues looking to attract new customers. In that case, Jason films and entire show (such as concert or performance) and makes a 5 to 10 minute highlight video. The dvds can then be send out to bus companies and travel groups.
JD Film Productions has been involved in dozens of different award winning film competitions. In 2006, JD Film Productions won the West Virginia Fall Film Festival with the short "To Friendship". The short was directed,filmed and edited by Jason Dobbins of JD Film Productions and Ben Dyer (Dyer Films) with Bobby Menendez (also of JD Film Productions). The film was greatly loved and received the majorty votes from the audience to get the 1st Place prize.
In the early part of 2007, JD Film Productions began competing in contests for the website YouTube.com. JD Film Productions was a runner up in the "Hinder - Better Than Me Music Video Contest". The video received very high praise and won several awards from YouTube. The film starred Ricky Menendez and Jenna Elder.
After the Hinder contest,JD Film Productions entered yet another music video competition, the "Buckcherry - Everything contest". As with the first video,this too received high praise and was a runner up. The film starred Bobby Menendez and Marra Vespoint.
During these contests,up and coming author Glenn P.Clinger III took notice. Needing promotional work for his upcoming novel,Flight 412, Clinger contracted JD Film Productions to film a series of 3 comedy shorts to be placed on YouTube. Since the videos, Mr.Clinger's book sales have been steller and have earned his book rave reviews. JD Film Productions is currently involved in many projects which will be later featured on this site. Jason Dobbins of JDProductions has entered a partnership with John Paul Nardelli of Sounds Good Entertainment. The deal is very promising with only good things on the horizon. Since the partnership was brokered, JD Film Productions has been contracted to film multiple events.
2009 is set to be a huge year for JD Film Productions. In addition to the usual (events,weddings and commercials), JD Film Productions is set to produce several feature length documentaries. The first of which will be on Jay Hill and The Dirty Coal River band. Stay tuned for more details!
